Every year, days before Tet are coming, fashion shops and commercial centers will decorate their areas with lights and flowers to welcome their guests. Obviously, we, students, are equally eager, too. In that atmosphere, all of us are really excited, especially after we have just finished final exam. Then, many of us will dress up to take pictures or go shopping. Accordingly, we are so busy spending our happy days until suddenly one day we realize, ” Tet is over? Are we going to school soon?” or even “Why am I running out of money, it’s not even Tet yet.” To avoid the above situation, I believe we need to prepare ourselves a plan to celebrate Tet.
In terms of transportation, every time Tet is near, the story of bus fares increasing 3 or 4 times but we can’t even have a place on a bus. This is discussed all over the newspaper or on social networking sites. To avoid this, try some of the following suggestions. First, depending on what part of the country your home is in, you can try another form of transportation such as train or even…. planes. To do so, you need to search for tickets very early to be able to buy relatively cheap fares. Those who live closer to the city can choose to travel by motorbikes. Going by private vehicles, you can be more proactive in terms of time as well as enjoy the beautiful natural scenery in spring. Surely, the way home will be a little closer. However, it is important that you should choose the right time to travel, especially avoid the days right before Tet when all roads are jammed and your trip becomes tiring and not fun at all. A little preparation and a reasonable plan will make your Tet closer and more fun.
Another thing to consider is working parttime. Tet is a time when people spend much more money than usual. At this moment, everything is far more expensive. We have nearly a month to for Tet holiday before the next semester starts. Then why don’t we take advantage of these New Year’s days to stay in the city and earn some extra income. A working day at this stage is worth several times a normal weekday. Moreover, the work is sometimes easier and there are also more opportunities. Indeed, when Tet is coming, the stalls in the shopping centers are crowded with people to shop. Most stores need more staff to meet the sudden increase in demand during the year-end shopping season. Staying for a few days to earn extra income these days is a great option for students who are self-reliant. In addition, during Tet, there is a shortage of jobs such as cleaning the house, taking care of cats and dogs or even just keeping the house for a few days. This can help you earn extra income to cover your own expense. Going home a few days later does not make Tet unexciting. And earning more money will make our lives a little easier. If that’s the case, what’s more meaningful than Tet, right?
On the other side, have you ever thought about bringing books back to your hometown to read during Tet? If you can do this, surely your Tet holidays will not pass in vain. Spending a few hours a day going over the subjects you’ll be studying next term will give you an wider view over your peers before the semester starts. Besides, taking advantage of the time when everyone is busy having fun, we are equipped with some great tips such as how to succeed in communication or overcome our limits. This puts you far ahead of your peers. As a result, you will have more opportunities in your job after graduation.
In short, everyone has the same 24 hours a day. Each of us has the same Tet holiday. Whether Tet becomes more meaningful and joyful or more tiring and difficult mostly depends on your own choices right now. Wishing you all a very happy and meaningful Lunar New Year.
