My dear students! Lunar New Year vacation is over, and you need to resume your study schedule. Surely there will be some of you who still are loath to part with their parents and their hometown, still linger on Tet atmosphere, and feel inactive when studying again. Don’t worry today I will reveal some tips to help you have an exciting semester.
1. Find the ideal study space: The study space is also a factor that affects your learning spirit. The study corner should be spacious and peaceful for your concentration. You are not advised to lie on the sofa, bed, or any other warm places because it only takes a few minutes for you to fall asleep.
2. Adjust the life routine: During the Tet holiday, you can stay up late or oversleep a bit. But now it’s time to put everything in order. Go to bed early and exercise and you will have a new day full of energy, avoid traffic jams and being late for class.
3. Review previous lessons: When learning foreign languages, forgetting the previous knowledge is apparent if we do not practice regularly. Before entering the new semester, you should review what has been learnt such as watching videos related to learning vocabulary and practicing listening, pronunciation, reading books, systematizing knowledge with mind maps…. Any learning methods to facilitate revision.
4. Write down your own goals for the new semester: Goals need to be SMART (Specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, achievable, timing). If the goal is general like this semester you need to study better or impractical like this semester you need to achieve 9.0 on average while last semester you only achieved 4.0, it will be very difficult to achieve it, leading to depression. So, write down your goals on paper to help you stay motivated.
5. Examine upcoming subjects: learning about the subjects before starting the new semester will help you be less surprised and have a proactive attitude in learning and gain good learning results.
Mentioned above are some tips to help you reactivate your study spirit after a long break. Hope it to be of help to you. I wish you will enjoy learning, and gain a lot of useful knowledge and skills in this semester.
