2019 Outbound Program at Guilin University of Polytechnic Completed

 

 

According to the training cooperation program between the two schools, when participating in the course, students will study the main subjects including Listening – Speaking Advanced and Chinese Culture with the equivalent of 7 credits. After finishing the program, the academic records of these subjects would be interchangeable with the results of studying at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Studying with native speakers, as well as active and creative learning methods, helps students increase their listening and speaking ability, knowledge and practical skills in their specialties.

Besides the main subjects, students also participate in extracurricular hours such as calligraphy, paper cutting, painting, baking … taught by the famous artisans in the area. Southern China. Students are very excited to be able to make Chinese characters by brush and create their own unique works.

During the 3-month study period, students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​experienced the life of international students under the 9-10 degree cold weather of Chinese spring, living in student dormitories, eating authentic Chinese meals in the school cafeteria, studying at the library, meeting regularly with Chinese students and other countries… Outside of class, the school also organizes tours of some famous tourist sites in Guilin city, such as That Tinh Park, Voi Voi Mountain Park, Guilin City Museum, Geological Museum at the University of Nhan Son. You can also experience the walking streets, the old town, the night market in the area near the school.

At the end of the course, the 19 students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University all received high appreciation and affection from teachers of the Institute of International Education as well as the board of directors of Guilin Polytechnic University. The success of the course, of course, does not only stop at 19 students of class 15DTT1A, but also serves as a good start for similar programs that the Department of Chinese Studies in particular and the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​in general plan to implement in the future.
