WOMEN IN MODERN ERA: EQUALITY OR EQUITY?

In the modern era, the concepts of equality and equity for women are both crucial but differ in their approach and outcomes. This essay is going to discuss both factors in detail.
On the one hand, equality focuses on treating everyone the same regardless of their circumstances. In the context of women’s rights, equity involves addressing historical and systemic barriers that have disadvantaged women, such as unequal access to education, economic opportunities, and healthcare. While equality ensures equal treatment under the law, equity seeks to address underlying inequalities and provide support to those who need it most. Achieving gender equity may involve active programs, gender-related policies, and investments in women’s empowerment initiatives to create a more inclusive and just society for all women, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
