In the morning on June 9, 2023, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, joyfully organized a scientific seminar with the topic: “Something about how to write a scientific article related to the topic of translation and teaching English language” shared by Excellent Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Minh Thanh. The conference aims to strengthen the activities and academic exchanges for the faculty – researchers, as well as to improve the quantity and quality of scientific research activities of the Faculty. Thereby contributing to improving the reputation of the University in scientific research and training in the community; and contribute to building, promoting and enhancing the image of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in relations with prestigious domestic and international universities and research institutes.
During the conference, the teaching staff was very honored to listen to valuable sharing on how to properly and effectively conduct a scientific paper that was gathered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Minh Thanh. She emphasized the complexity and flexibility of language, thereby giving advice to teaching staff to be aware of and accept exceptions in language in general and in linguistics research in particular. She also enthusiastically guides the important steps that need to pay attention to while conducting a scientific research such as the Abstract, Introduction, analysis, synchronization and summary of research results.
Then, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Minh Thanh took the time to introduce to the participating teachers the newly published book “Some problems with syntax, semantics and pragmatics”, her collection of research papers on language over 20 years of academic research. She also highlighted that this will be the book that marks her final efforts in the field of language studies and ambitions to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese language to the world outside.
The conference ended in a very lively Q&A session related to the topic discussed. The teachers attending the conference actively exchanged as well as shared difficulties and experiences in the process of writing research papers. Finally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Minh Thanh dedicatedly stayed to sign autographs for the attendees.
