NTTU – On February 28, 2022, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized virtual thesis defenses for English Studies students of intake 2018. Due to the complicated developments of Covid-19, this is the faculty’s first defense session carried out via Google Meet platform. Conducted according to the 2021-2022 school year plan, the defense session was a good opportunity for nine senior students with good academic results to defend their dissertations in English. At the defense session, each student gave their oral defense presentation within 15 minutes and had approximately 30 minutes for responding to defense committee members’ questions. The soon-to-be graduates with impressive presentation skills answered the questions posed within the topic. They received many valuable comments and constructive suggestions from the thesis examiners. Although the thesis defenses took place online, thanks to experience in online training application, the faculty successfully organized the ceremony in a thoughtful, fair and objective manner.
