HO CHI MINH CITY HOSTS PARADE TO COMMEMORATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF THE SOUTH

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City will host a grand commemorative parade to honor the nation’s historic milestones and showcase the city’s unity and progress in the modern era.

The parade will take place on the morning of April 30, 2025, in the city center, featuring various marching contingents, including armed forces, war veterans, youth union members, students, workers, farmers, and representatives of different ethnic communities.

In addition to the formal procession, this year’s event will include military vehicle displays, flower-carriage parades depicting historical landmarks, artistic performances, and interactive programs to pay tribute to past generations. This is not only an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s glorious history but also to reaffirm Vietnam’s remarkable development in its ongoing renewal process.

The city is already brimming with a festive atmosphere, with flags, banners, and slogans adorning the streets. A variety of meaningful activities such as photo exhibitions, historical film screenings, seminars, and cultural and sports events will also be held throughout the city. Notably, on the evening of April 30, both locals and visitors will be treated to spectacular fireworks display at multiple locations.

This significant occasion serves as a heartfelt tribute to those who sacrificed for the country’s independence while also reminding today’s generation of their responsibility in shaping Vietnam’s future.

Ho Chi Minh City warmly welcomes residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the celebratory spirit, joining hands in building a dynamic, modern city that remains deeply rooted in its historical and cultural heritage.
