NTTU<\/strong> – On 27th<\/sup>, November, 2021, Nguyen Tat Thanh University\u2019s Institutional Review Committee on Professorship Titles held a meeting to review the first round of professorship promotion application in 2021.<\/p>\n This event is organized yearly by Nguyen Tat Thanh University to select applicants who are qualified enough to be promoted to the Specialty Review Committee. This year\u2019s event was held with the participation of 3 candidates applying for Associate Professor Title. As required, in addition to the competence in specialized fields, the achievements in research and teaching, the candidates must also prove themselves to be proficient in using foreign languages.<\/p>\n This year, the Foreign Language Assessment Board with the responsibility of assisting NTTU\u2019s Institutional Review Committee on Professorship Titles to assess the candidates\u2019 English proficiency was formed with three judges from the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL). The Board worked seriously with high sense of responsibility to fulfil its assigned duty.<\/p>\n In general, the candidates this year demonstrated their good English competence when giving oral presentations on and answering questions about their research work and research directions, the challenges facing them in doing research, and the contributions of their research to the community and the society, fully meeting the Committee\u2019s English language proficiency requirements.<\/p>\n In addition to its primary responsibility of providing foreign language training, FFL is also assigned other tasks, including doing scientific research. Being members of the Foreign Language Assessment Board as part of the Institutional Review Committee provides FFL teachers with invaluable opportunities to approach knowledge of various fields. More importantly, it is also a good chance for them to get familiar with scientific research in general and with the professor promoting procedure in particular.
